Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR)

Up to $20,000 for activities that enrich the life of rural and remote communities in the areas of culture and tourism, the arts, history and heritage. Priority given to projects and activities that benefit communities of less than 10,000.

Priority also will be given to projects that have community based/grass roots development, a level of sustainability or direct contribution to the economic fabric of that community, share assets amongst community groups, take a group to the next level of sophistication, preserve community heritage using approved methods and collaborative arts models that are as inclusive as possible. Read more

World Heritage Artist in Residence

Creative Arts Fellowship

National Library of Australia

The Fellowship offers a grant to support creative practitioners and artists to undertake a sustained period of intensive work at the Library, using the rich and varied collections to develop a new art-work or body of work or an artistic concept for future elaboration. The Fellowship is open to established and emerging artists. Artists may be working in such fields as music, dance, theatre, visual arts, emerging, hybrid and experimental art forms.

During their residency Fellows receive: $10,000, which can be used as a stipend for travel support and accommodation or for project expenses, special access to collections and staff expertise, access to office facilities and a personal workstation, and copies of collection materials. Read more

National Stronger Regions Fund

Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development

This programme will provide funding over 5 years, to fund priority infrastructure in regional communities. Grants between $20,000 and $10 million are available for capital projects which involve construction of new infrastructure or enhancement of existing infrastructure. NSW Aboriginal Arts Fellowship

Funds for a NSW Aboriginal artist to undertake a self-directed program of professional development. The Fellowship is valued at $30,000 and might include travel, mentorships, residencies, workshops, research, and the creation of new work.

The Fellowship is open to arts practitioners working in all art forms including collections and cultural heritage, community arts and cultural development, dance, literature, multi art form, music (including opera and musical theatre), theatre (including circus and physical theatre), and visual arts (including craft and design).

Accessible Arts

The funding program will support arts and cultural projects at any stage of their creative development and/or public presentation. They can include projects that support online resources, venue accessibility, adaptation of equipment for specific use in creative expression and other initiatives supporting the creation of artwork.

The Accessible Arts Small Grants Program will support projects that improve social inclusion outcomes for people with disability through increased involvement in arts and cultural activities.  The benefits of the funded projects may be realised by the participants in the Scheme as well as other people with disability. Read more

Artist-in-Residence

Bundanon Trust

The Artist-in-Residence program at the Bundanon site was initiated in 1993 and is the largest such program in Australia, hosting around 300 artists each year on both Bundanon and Riversdale sites. The properties are Arthur Boyd’s gift to the Australian people, and his vision for Bundanon was to provide an inspirational haven for artists to pursue their practice.

The Bundanon Trust Artist-in-Residence program is open to arts professionals from Australia and overseas, working in all disciplines. This includes artists, writers, performers, producers, directors, composers, curators and educators. Residencies can be for research and development or for the creation of new work. Read more

Leg Up Grants

Institute for Provocation Residency in China

Small Grants

Museums and Galleries NSW

Small Grants aim to meet the short-term, collection-based requirements of community museums and keeping places. There are no set categories for funding, and applications for a broad range of projects will be considered.

Small Grants are open to museums and Aboriginal Keeping Places with up to two full time paid staff members as well as museum networks such as Museums Australia Chapters. Read more

Project Development Grants

Museums and Galleries NSW

Project Development Grants allow community museums and keeping places to carry out strategic and innovative projects with mid to long term outcomes. The grants can also provide an opportunity to work productively with an appropriate museums and/or arts consultant as a skill development opportunity.

Previous Project Development Grants have funded strategic and marketing plans, significance assessments, exhibition development, touring exhibitions and public programs. Read more

International Residencies

The International Residencies Program enables the artistic development of individual artists and groups by brokering and offering high quality residency experiences.

New South Wales Artists’ Grant

National Association for the Visual Arts

The NSW Artists’ Grant has been initiated by NAVA to assist professional visual and media arts, craft and design practitioners residing in NSW to produce, present and promote their work throughout Australia and overseas. Funds for the scheme have been made available by Arts NSW specifically to encourage the undertaking of creative and cost-effective initiatives.

This grant provides assistance towards the costs of: production of new creative work, presentation of work in a venue, residencies involving the production of new work/ presentation of new work, production and distribution of an artist’s publication or portfolio, or setting up a website, preparing a publicity campaign. Read more

Skills Development Grants

Museums and Galleries NSW

Skills Development Grants provide funding to volunteer museums, museum networks and keeping places for regional or state focused skill development training and networking events.

There are no set categories for funding, and applications for a broad range of projects will be considered.

Skills Development Grants are open to museums and Aboriginal Keeping Places with up to two full time paid staff members (no more than 70 hours of paid staffing per week) as well as museum networks such as Museums Australia Chapters. Read more

Quick Response Grants (QUICKS)

Regional Arts NSW

Made available under the Regional Arts Fund allocation for NSW, Quick Response Grants ('Quicks") offer funding of up to $1,500 for regional artists, arts organisations and communities to respond to unique arts opportunities that present themselves at very short notice.

‘Quicks’ are offered on a quarterly basis. There is no deadline for applications, which may be made as required, although applications are processed on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Applicants MUST speak to the Funding Manager at Regional Arts NSW before applying. Decisions will be advised within 5 working days of receipt.. Read more
