IN MEMORIAM
Vale Lee Blacker-Noble

Western Riverina Arts share our heartfelt sympathies with the Leeton and surrounding art communities, and the family of Lee Blacker-Noble (22.01.34 - 05.08.22). Lee was a multitalented artist who had been in countless exhibitions throughout her long career and was also one of the founding members of the first iteration of the Leeton Art Society. Lee has several large artworks you can view around Leeton, as well as a 36m long mural in Casino, NSW. Lee was a keen traveller with an adventurous spirit as well as a fantasy and science-fiction novel enthusiast, both of which had influences on her work. She will be deeply missed.

“There’s nothing better than painting. I think that’s what’s kept me going all these years, the ability to be able to paint. It’s a lot better than sitting in front of the tv – I can tell you that! When you’re painting you can’t worry about anything else, you are completely involved in what you’re doing when you’re painting.” Lee Blacker-Noble, 2021.

You can read more about Lee's art and life here.
