Sound on Paper - Julie Thompson-Briggs and Barbara Bartos
This Friday 2st June the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery is holding a launch of 4 new exhibitions, among these exhibitions is Sound on Paper, a collaborative exhibition by Italian artist Barbara Bartos and Narrandera-based poet Julie Thompson-Briggs.
Sound on Paper presents two projects exploring the apparent dichotomy between visual and audible perception. During a two-week residency at the Cad Factory in November 2016, Italy the artists collaborated on an audio-visual interactive project inspired by the Scribbly Gum Moth. Alongside their collaboration, Barbara Bartos continued to develop the Soundscape Instrument, an ongoing project that transformed the sky over the Riverina paddocks into a melody.
The exhibition will be on display until Sunday 29th July, 2018.
Where: Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, Morrow Street Wagga Wagga (Council Precinct)
Launch date and time: Friday 1st June, from 6pm.
Opening hours: Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday 10am - 2pm. Closed Mondays.
