Positions vacant: Wagga Wagga and Bathurst Art Galleries

There are currently several arts employment opportunities available in regional NSW including 5 positions with the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery. 

 

Wagga Wagga Art Gallery

Gallery Director

The Gallery is seeking a Director with exceptional strategic, management and leadership skills. This position is responsible for managing the operations and facilities of the Gallery in accordance with international industry best practices, and leading the delivery of exhibitions, public engagement, and collection management to the highest standards expected by the gallery’s audiences, stakeholders and community.

Candidates will need to demonstrate extensive experience in the public gallery sector or other relevant industry, and extensive professional knowledge of contemporary visual arts. Highly developed skills are also required in leadership, strategic planning, communication, financial management, and stakeholder engagement. The capacity to develop an ambitious, innovative and ethical vision for the Gallery will be essential.

Gallery Officer - Digital and Programs

The Gallery is seeking a Digital and Programs Officer to support our operations, including promotion for exhibitions, public engagement activities, events and collections. Applicants will need experience in marketing and online promotion activities, proficiency in relevant software packages, strong communication and creative writing skills, and an enthusiasm for the Gallerys activities and our role in the community. Additional hours including evening and weekend work may be required.

Gallery Technical Officer 

The Gallery is seeking a Technical Officer to support the delivery of exhibitions, public engagement activities and collection management operations. Applicants will need experience in artwork handling, installation and photographic documentation, strong technical and communication skills, and an enthusiasm for the Gallerys activities and our role in the community. Additional hours including evening and weekend work may be required.

Bathurst Regional Art Gallery 

Curator

The Curator works closely with the Gallery Director to develop, implement and manage the gallery’s program of exhibitions and events (onsite, offsite and online). The BRAG Curator is responsible for managing BRAG’s exhibition program, including in-house curated exhibitions, local artists projects, collection research and development, and touring exhibitions. This role is also responsible for the management and promotion of the Hill End Artists in Residence Program. BRAG is looking for a motivated, multi-skilled individual who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and who can work as part of small team that includes casual and volunteers.

Audience Engagement Officer 

The Audience Engagement Officer works closely with the Gallery Director and Curator to develop education and public programs that enhance the Gallery’s artistic programs and audience experience (onsite, offsite and online). The position is also responsible for the promotion of BRAG exhibitions and events through media and online platforms, creating marketing and promotional material consistent with the BRAG brand identity, and developing opportunities to leverage new media and technology to promote and deliver programs to a range of audiences. BRAG is looking for a motivated, multi-skilled individual who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and who can work as part of small team that includes Volunteers.
