Felting Workshop with Jess Forster
The Griffith Regional Art Gallery are hosting Felting Workshop with Jess Forster on Saturday 20th January.
In a one day workshop, participants will explore the incredible properties and creative potential of natural fibres. We will learn about the ancient craft of felting - the process in which natural fibres are transformed into a thick fabric material. Participants are encouraged to come with a source of inspiration from nature, as they will be creating unique individual artworks of their own. The artworks will be created using both two-dimensional and three-dimensional felting skills learnt throughout the workshop. The workshop explores the idea of 'pushing the material' - questioning how we view and utilise natural fibres. The workshop is about blending the boundaries of art, craft and design - all with the underlying currents of sustainable and ethical practices.
