Poetry @ Griffith City Library

Poetry @ Griffith City Library

"There was recently a poetry event at the Leeton Library, and it was great to see a really positive response from the attendees. Afterwards we had a number of enquiries as to whether there would be another poetry event in the future." (Derek Motion, Executive Officer, Western Riverina Arts)

With that in mind Western Riverina Arts has now partnered with the Griffith City Library, the Booranga Writers’ Centre and Interreach to hold a poetry evening in Griffith.

This event will feature Nathanael O’Reilly, visiting writer-in-residence from the Booranga Writers’ Centre, but will also give an opportunity for two new poets from Griffith to showcase their work – Mary Catanzariti and Sharni Montgomery.

"Writing is often a solitary pursuit and so it is important that writers are sometimes given the chance to present their work publicly, and to engage with readers. It is also a great confidence boost for emerging regional writers to be able to present their work alongside more experienced writers." (Derek Motion, Executive Officer, Western Riverina Arts)
