Winners of the Penny Paniz Art Prize
The Penny Paniz Art Acquisitive Competition and Exhibition, now in it's 5th year, has become a valued tradition in Leeton. Over the long Easter weekend art lovers from far and near came to the Leeton Multipurpose Centre to enjoy the many original artworks by local artists.
Also for the 5th time Western Riverina Arts sponsored the 'open' section of the annual Penny Paniz Art Prize with $500. The winner of the open category 'Champion Exhibit' was local artist Ann Rayment. She impressed the judges with a portrait titled 'Looking forward, Looking back'.
The 2017 'Arts Acquisitive Prize' theme was heritage and winner Sheldene Visagie wowed the judges with her artwork 'Welcome to the ROXY', which shows the historic Roxy Community Theatre and got rewarded $1000 by Leeton Shire Council.
If you didn't get the chance to see this winning art piece just drop by the Leeton Shire Library this Sunday at 2 PM. They will be showcasing all the winners of the Penny Paniz Art Prize from the past 5 years.
