'More than a Fish Kill'
Launched at the National Museum of Australia the film 'More than a Fish Kill' documents how artists, fishery managers and First Nations custodians collaborated after the devastating fish kills along the Barka/Baaka (Darling River) and turned these ecological disasters into catalysts for cultural connection and revival. ABC Radio National 'Big Ideas' host, Natasha Mitchell, was joined by artist Vic McEwan, Barkandji Elder Barbara Quayle, Fisheries Manager Matt McLellan and Wiradjuri Cultural Leader Neville Bamblett to discuss the film and the issues it raises. The discussion will feature on RN Big Ideas on Wednesday 1st November.

MAKE Group Exhibits at National Museum
When it comes to creating beautiful artwork, age or disability is no barrier. This is especially true for the talented Murrumbidgee Arts Kinship Enterprise (MAKE) group, led in their practice by artist Kerri Weymouth.
Most recently MAKE have been working on a very special contribution to 'River Country', a collaborative installation for the National Museum of Australia. 'River Country' is close to the roots and hearts of the members, with one member actually being born on the river bank at Darlington Point. With the support of Western Riverina Arts and Regional Arts NSW the group was able to attend the River Country Community Day.

Leeton Hums
A recording of 120 hand-made wind organs by local artist Jason Richardson is now part of the Cities and Memory project 'Music for Sleep', a vast and unique sound map of compositions.
'Music for Sleep' is a worldwide collaboration between artists and field recordists to create a collection of 280 compositions from 41 different countries, each specially designed for rest, sleep and tranquillity. Each composition is a reimagined piece inspired by and including the original field recording as source material. Follow the sound map to find the tranquility of a Leeton garden!
The wind organs were initially made and installed by Jason as part of the annual experimental gathering Burning Seed. He has shared with us instructions for the creation of the wind organs here.
