Regional Futures EOI
Regional Futures is a two-year program of commissioning and conversations that places artists at the centre of a dialogue exploring a future vision for the place where they live and create.
Managed by the NSW Regional Arts Network and funded by Create NSW, this is an opportunity for artists to participate in a statewide project, capturing a sense of celebration of regional creative practice and diversity of perspectives.
Applications will soon be sought from creatives across all art forms based in the Western Riverina Arts region to undertake a creative development of a new work that responds to the prompt ‘What does the future look like for our regions?’
The Expression of Interest for Stage One opens on Monday March 7 and closes April 6 2022 for the Western Riverina region. To find out more or to submit an application, visit the Regional Futures website.
Western Riverina Arts Guidelines
Western Riverina Arts is seeking Expressions of Interest for an artist mentorship across any artform commissioned to undertake creative development of a new work that responds to the prompt ‘What does the future look like for your region?’
The Western Riverina Arts Mentorship requires a young artist between 16 and 25 to be paired with a mentor artist of their choice. Either the mentor or the young artist must be from the Western Riverina region of Griffith, Leeton, Murrumbidgee or Narrandera Local Government areas. This opportunity is to foster professional development pathways that connect artists across NSW to learn and develop. Proposals are also welcomed where both artist and mentor are from the Western Riverina. A mentor is also defined as an organisation, or a targeted workshop by an experienced artist anywhere in NSW. Western Riverina Arts can assist to pair up a proposed mentor and artist where it may be difficult to contact them otherwise. A mentor and artist pairing must be confirmed before the close of the EOI.
At least one mentorship proposal from the Western Riverina will be selected on the following criteria:
a) $3000 in total is available that must cover both artist and mentor fees.
b) Western Riverina Arts will separately support the artist and mentor's travel and accommodation to participate in the Regional Futures initiative.
