Call for EOI's from print artists - Wagga Halfway Print Fest

Call for EOI's from print artists - Wagga Halfway Print Fest

Wagga locals and CSU grads Adele Packer and Kate Allman received funding from
Wagga Wagga City Council to host an art festival, focusing on printed material, in the
new year.

Halfway Print Fest celebrates all things printed and independently made by regional and inter-state artists. The Fest will showcase "zines", artist books, screen-printed apparel and other items that have emerged from the minds and hands of passionate makers. Local and interstate artists are invited to submit an EOI to sell their work during the festival. The Fest will showcase Visit www.halfwayprintfest.com for more details and to fill in an EOI.

In addition to the showcase and sale of artists' work, two presentations will be given by visiting artist and co-founder of Melbourne's zine/DIY hub Sticky Institute, Luke Sinclair and CSU Wagga Information Studies lecturer and zine researcher, Jessie Lymn. ALso, there will be interactive displays including a zine-making lab and exhibit from the CSU Regional Archives.

These events work together to offer the Wagga community an immersive experience with DIY culture and independent publishing. This is a special event that aims to present many different points of view through a common practice and provide access to local and non-local artists' work.

Halfway Print Fest will take place over 3-4 March, 2018 at Thirsty Crow Brewery
and the Museum of the Riverina.

Adele and Kate have published a zine together, called Salad Days since 2015 and have been recognised by the State Library of Victoria, National Library of Australia and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney. Most recently, Salad Days was exhibited as part of a self-made zines and artist books held at the State Library of Victoria, a show that brought together zine-makers and book-makers from across the country.
