Sunday Soiree with local poets @ Leeton Shire Library

Join the Leeton Shire Library on Sunday 26 March between 2-4 pm for a new program called “Sunday Soiree”. The first event will feature three local published poets who will be reading some of their works.

Kristie Wallace is a poet from Griffith. She is a complete novice to reading her work to an audience; she gratefully accepts the blissful relief experienced when allowing words to flow through her awareness and out onto paper.
Julie Briggs lives in Narrandera and works in tourism, economic development, communications and, occasionally in the arts. She writes poetry, sometimes ekphrastic poetry, and is fond of the vignette. She has had work published in visual works, and in journals.
Derek Motion is a poet and arts-worker from Narrandera, NSW. He holds a PhD in creative writing from CSU, and was winner of the 2009 Overland Judith Wright Poetry Prize. His second full-length poetry collection 'The Only White Landscape' was published through Cordite books in 2017.

Sunday Soiree will be held at the Library on the fourth Sunday of each month from 2-4pm. Each month will showcase a different arts or cultural experience.
