Artists required: Commonwealth Games Baton Relay Celebrations - Narrandera
Narrandera Shire Council currently has two opportunities for local artists to participate in the Gold Coast XXI Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay Community Celebrations in Narrandera in January 2018.
Opportunity 1:
Friday 19 January and Saturday 20 January 2018, 10am to 2pm
Location: Narrandera Arts and Community Centre
To engage with local community in the lead-up to the Gold Coast XXI Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay, Narrandera Shire Council would like to employee local artists to run free drop in sessions for the community to create their own flag/ baton/ streamer/ creative outlet in the Commonwealth Games colours. Community members will be encouraged to bring their flag/ baton/ streamer/ creative outlet to the route to cheer on Baton bearers on Sunday 28th January in Narrandera.
(Council staff and volunteers will be onsite for these sessions. It will be a requirement that adults must accompany children to the sessions. There will be a briefing session for artists in the lead-up to the sessions to go through all requirements)
Opportunity 2:
Sunday 28 January 2018, 12pm to 2pm
Location: Narrandera Sportsground
A large marquee will be provided for event patrons to come and enjoy free craft activities as part of the Narrandera Community Celebration, which have a Narrandera theme (artists can be creative here). The activities will be for both children and adults.
Artists may choose to participate in one opportunity or both. These are paid opportunities for artists.
The deadline for the proposals is Friday 8 December.
