You turn your head, stare at the flashing lights, and mentally check where your loved ones are.
The siren passes and you go back to your life.
It continues toward everyday people; worried or obsessed, injured or unable.

Syd Worthington is a student paramedic in Brisbane on a 12 hour night shift. Tonight, he is forced to adapt to the freshly exposed problems of his own life while he trains for the new job.
His patients are vulnerable; their lives frenzied, some attitudes wretched, but all of them troubled and having arrived in tonight’s situation from a past of terrible tragedy and wicked ideals.

Will tonight’s shift teach him more than just how to calm his own torment?
Or will helping his patients send him on a downward spiral of confusion and chaos?

Calm to chaos is Garth Wade's first book. The second, third and fourth are in current development, buzzing recklessly through his mind. When Garth is not writing, he enjoys reading in the sun on winter mornings, getting ridiculously lost while adventuring overseas, being entertained by Hollywood films and applying his limited skills to mountain biking.

Garth Wade will visit Griffith City Library Thursday 2 February at 5:30pm to read from his book 'Calm to chaos - each siren you hear'. For further details contact the library on 6962 8300 or rsvp online
