2017 Penny Paniz Arts Aquisitive Competition & Exhibtion
Leeton Art Society Inc. invites artists of Leeton and surroundings to enter their original artwork in the 'Penny Paniz Arts Aquisitive Competition & Exhibtion', held on the 2017 Easter weekend.
Penny Paniz was a passionate and gifted artist, who motivated and inspired people to pursue their artistic talents. Ms. Paniz was proud of her Aboriginal heritage and her commitment to developing the cultural fabric of Leeton is an important legacy that remains.
After her passing the Penny Paniz Art Prize was established in 2012 to honour Ms. Paniz memory and to provide focus to the work of the Leeton Art Society in which Ms. Paniz was actively involved.
The Leeton Art Society Inc is run by a group of dedicated members who are passionate about engaging the inner artist. They aim to showcase artistry, promote art and increase local awareness of art in Leeton and the wider community.
Western Riverina Arts continuously sponsors the 'open' section of the annual Penny Paniz Art Prize. The winner of the open category 'champion exhibit' will be rewarded $500.
The exhibition will be opened and winners announced at 6pm on Thursday 13 April 2017. Exhibition will run 10am-4pm from Friday 14 April - Monday 17 April.
