National Cultural Policy
The Australian Government has published the National Cultural Policy, Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place. Revive is a five-year plan to renew and revive Australia’s arts, entertainment and cultural sector, following the most difficult period for the sector in generations. It delivers new momentum so that Australia’s creative workers, organisations and audiences continue to thrive and grow. It includes dedicated initiatives supporting First Nations, Music Australia, Writers Australia, the Centre for Arts and Entertainment Workplaces and the works of scale fund. Regional arts and culture are being supported through an increase to the Regional Arts Fund of $8.5 million, and continuation of the Festivals Australia program. Read the National Cultural Policy.

Three New Artwork Commissions For The Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment
The Cad Factory and Murrumbidgee Local Health District invites artists with a connection to the Griffith region to submit an Expression of Interest to be considered to undertake artwork for identified locations situated within the Griffith Base Hospital, with opportunities specifically for artists who are members of the region’s First Nation and multicultural communities.
EOIs are now open and close 27 February 2023 at 12pm. Find out more.

Scene Shift Residency Program
The Cad Factory (Narrandera) and Brand X (Sydney) are committed to a rural and urban flow of artistic exchange and learning. To support this flow they are inviting practising artists to apply for the Scene Shift Residency Program. This residency program gives a regional artist studio space and accommodation in the Sydney CBD and gives a Sydney artist studio space and accommodation in rural NSW. Find out more.

New Sculpture In Griffith
Caesars Furniture owner Paul Pierotti commissioned sculptor Andrew Whitehead to create a gladiator and chariot sculpture with a twist which he hoped would help to establish an art trail and promote tourism. The sculpture has now been installed for all to see out the front of the store and people are welcome to come and interact with the work. Read more. Image: Oliver Jacques.

Western Riverina Arts will be holding a FREE artist roundtable and networking event at the Leeton Museum and Gallery. We will be joined by Kristy-Lee Agresta, Hape Kiddle and Andrew Whitehead who will be sharing their entertaining tales from the arts sector! Registration essential.
There’s no one set way to navigate a career in the arts world. Explore different pathways through the arts as we have a sit-down discussion with three creative practitioners who have found success and have made a living through different artistic avenues. From juggling multiple creative businesses, finding inspiration through travel, getting your foot in the door, tertiary and self-taught education to commissions and classes - audience members will be able to ask all their burning questions!

In this interactive workshop you will learn: how to getting started as an artist with fundamentals, tips and tricks, how to approach art galleries and secure exhibition opportunities and you will also gain perspectives on the roles of gallery professionals. Participants are encouraged to ask all their burning questions about arts and careers in a professional or gallery context.

Catwalk Masters: A Claringbold & Weymouth Retrospective

Discover the fascinating fashion legacy of John Claringbold and Ross Weymouth at CATWALK MASTERS – A Retrospective Exhibition. Join them at the National Trust’s Como House and Gardens Ballroom for an intimate, storytelling experience featuring a curated selection of significant vintage garments from the award-winning and at times controversial designers’ archives. Learn about the designer’s partnership in fashion and life, as memories are shared by friend Tony Anderson and former Fashion House Model, Elana McKinley. Discover how two country men evolved into sophisticated courtiers and became leaders in the bespoke fashion design industry, winning the prestigious Gown of the Year award multiple times. This is a rare opportunity to see a unique period of vintage fashion by John Claringbold & Ross Weymouth, as guided by fashion anthropologist Tom McEvoy, co-producer Kerri Weymouth, and hosts Tony Anderson and Elana McKinley.

February | Narrandera Arts & Community Centre
Carmonn French's exhibition, 554 kms is now on display at the Narrandera Arts & Community Centre! You can see these gorgeous pieces throughout February.
554 kms is the distance from Carmonn's studio in Darlinghurst to her hometown, Narrandera. Having grown up in Narrandera and now painting about growing up there, she wants to allow the viewer to inhabit, wander 'inside' the pieces within her own memories.
This exhibition is presented by Narrandera Arts as part of their 2023 Wide Open program.

Artificial Intelligence in Creative Industries and Practice

This webinar will be facilitated by the ABC’s tech reporter, James Purtill. Joining James will be artist Xanthe Dobbie, Nyungar technologist and digital rights activist Kathryn Gledhill-Tucker, artist and researcher Dr. Nina Rajcic, and commercial and intellectual property lawyer Benjamin Duff.
They will share their insights on the legal implications of AI-generated art, machine and human relationships and how it is transforming artistic expressions in new and unexpected ways. The panel discussion aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current discourse surrounding the use of AI in the arts and gain a deeper understanding of current engagement with AI within the sector. Mastering The Art Of Painting
Sunday 19 February | Griffith Regional Art Gallery
Does your child love painting? Then book them in to join Isis-Rae Ronan from Tambourine Art Studio for a Mastering the Art of Painting Session. Each session will focus on a different artist/master of art, looking at their style of painting and their process. Participants will look at the work of Pablo Picasso and paint a cubist portrait based on the artwork 'Woman in beret and checked dress (Marie-Therese Walter)’.
Creative Kids Vouchers are accepted (please contact the Gallery). All materials supplied. Book in for either the ages 6-12 session or the ages 13-18 session.

Encaustic Demonstration with Sharon De Valentin

The process of making Encaustic Medium from beeswax, damar resin and dry pigment is an art form in itself, a kind of alchemy that leaves room for experimentation and creative expression. Sharon De Valentin has been mastering this artform for some years now and has a wealth of knowledge to share. Now in its sixth year, in partnership with the Department of Social Services, the ABC’s Regional Storyteller Scholarship program is an annual early-career opportunity for two people with lived experience of disability, living in regional Australia. Each year, it attracts applicants from across the country, passionate about topics they’d like to see covered on the ABC and telling their stories of what it is like living with disability in a regional community.

Creative Koori Projects | Arts and Cultural Funding Program
Creative Koori Projects funding is open to Aboriginal artists, arts and cultural workers, groups, and organisations. It aims to support a strong, resilient, and creative Aboriginal arts and cultural sector for NSW. This will be done by embracing the principles of Aboriginal self-determination and putting Aboriginal artists, arts and cultural workers, organisations, and communities at the centre of funded activity. 2023 Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize
The Ravenswood Australian Women's Art Prize is an annual acquisitive prize that was launched in 2017 to advance art and opportunity for emerging and established women artists in Australia. It is the highest value professional artist prize for women in Australia. There are three prize categories – the Professional Artist Prize of $35,000, the Emerging Artist Prize of $5,000 and the Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize of $5,000. There is also a People’s Choice Award of $2,000 plus an art pack valued at $500. Artists are asked to enter an artwork that best reflects their art practice - there is no theme. Entries Close: 15 February 2023.

New Kids On The Block Program
Screenworks created the New Kids on the Block Program in 2022 to acknowledge the costs associated with attending the 3-day Regional To Global Screen Forum and to address the anxiety of being a "New Kid" at any event, providing financial and in-person support for all successful applicants. Selected participants will receive $1,000.
At the heart of the New Kids On The Block Program is the fact that it has been designed to make the conference for first-timers a friendly experience where they don't feel alone.

Halfway Print Fest (HPF) is an annual festival that celebrates zine culture and the self-publishing/DIY spirit held in Wagga Wagga since 2018. It aims to deliver a dynamic and diverse range of arts and cultural experiences to communities across NSW, contribute to the development of a vibrant and accessible arts and cultural sector, and support the employment and development of professional NSW-based artists and arts/cultural workers. Round two closes 13 February 2023.

Organisation Funding | Arts and Cultural Funding Program
Annual Program funding is provided on an annual basis to support arts and cultural organisations (including Local Government Authorities and service organisations) to deliver multiple arts and cultural activities.
Project funding supports innovation, vibrancy and creativity within the NSW arts and cultural sector.
You can apply for up to $200,000 under the Annual Funding category. Applications to apply above the $200,000 cap for annual programs can be considered, but this must be pre-approved by Create NSW. You can apply for up to $60,000 under Project Funding.
Round two closes 13 February 2023.
