Early May 2017 we made over 800 children from Leeton and surroundings very happy as they got to experience a FREE performance of 'Diary of a Wombat' by Monkey Baa Theatre Company at the Roxy Community Theatre. The kids loved the show as well as the fun Q&A Sessions with the cast and some even got to meet the cheeky wombat Mothball himself.
Following its phenomenal Sydney premiere, Diary of a Wombat is touring 59 venues across Australia with Leeton being the first stop in the Riverina.
Western Riverina Arts' Executive Officer Derek Motion said "The Western Riverina Arts 2016-18 Strategic Plan identifies bringing touring theatre shows to the region as a priority, and it is especially important for our towns outside of Griffith. By supporting the tour of Diary of a Wombat we will allow hundreds of Leeton school children to see a FREE high-quality theatre production, something they might not often otherwise experience. A tutor will also tour to selected schools prior to the show, providing much-needed skills development for children of all ages."
