Western Riverina Art's ROR Residency 2022
Western Riverina Arts (WRA) and Rooms of Requirement (ROR Space) have partnered to offer a six-week residency during 2022 for one (1) creative practitioner in Australia valued between $1,600 - $1,900.
This residency will support an artist to work on their self-determined goals in a brand new creative co-working space in the heart of Griffith NSW on Wiradjuri Country. Artists looking to establish their first public studio space or pop-up shop with walk-through traffic are strongly encouraged to apply. The recipient will be surrounded by like-minded creatives and have opportunities for collaboration. All creative disciplines that can be undertaken in a small studio environment are eligible to apply.
The residency offers:
- Fully subsidised studio space.
- In-kind support.
The aims of this residency are to encourage networking and develop career pathways for artists by offering new opportunities and the space to create.
Residency Features and Benefits
Use of a private studio room of 3x2.5m or 4x3.3m at ROR Space.
Opportunity to hold a fully supported exhibition or artist talk at ROR Space at a later date.
Daily ROR Space access between 7am and 8pm.
Access to gallery space to display a selection of works, wears and creations.
Unlimited WiFi and electricity.
Online promotion via ROR Space and WRA.
Networking and an invitation to all ROR events.
Printing and scanning facilities.
Access to private meeting room.
Accessible building and facilities.
Common kitchen area.
Use of courtyard.
Secure off-street parking.
Potential assistance with local transport*
Applications will be accessed by a panel of members from WRA and ROR Space. The panel will be looking to select artists who:
- Will benefit from working within a creative hub.
- Will benefit from gaining experience running their first public studio or shop.
- Require a dedicated studio space.
Eligibility
Must not have any outstanding acquittals with Western Riverina Arts.
The applicant must be over the age of 18.
The applicant can be located anywhere in Australia.
The applicant must be able to secure their own accommodation for the duration of the residency if they do not reside locally.
The applicant will provide a certificate of public liability insurance covering their residency*. (Assistance from WRA available.)
Applicants at any stage of their career can apply.
The residency is open to all art forms that can be undertaken in a small studio environment.
The selected applicant will credit Western Riverina Arts and ROR Space in publicity, social media and advertising relating to the residency and its outcomes.
