Murrumbidgee Short Story Competition 2021
Our lives continue to be upended by events beyond the Western Riverina that enforces social distancing and affects our ability to be creative together.
While apart, we can still be creative together.
Narrandera Arts & Creative Network and Western Riverina Arts are providing an opportunity to inspire people to be creative through the 'Murrumbidgee Short Story Competition'.
Winning entries will be featured in upcoming Western Riverina Arts newsletters.
Submissions will undergo a blind judging process and winners will be announced by 30 November 2021.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be resident in one of the four Western Riverina Arts membership Local Government Areas (Griffith, Leeton, Murrumbidgee, Narrandera).
Max 2 entries per person.
Short story must be original - ie, not previously published elsewhere (including on blogs, shortlisted for other competitions, etc).
Entries to the competition is on the condition that the Author automatically gives permission for their winning short story to be published in the Western Riverina Arts newsletter and its other social media platforms.
Author retains copyright to their short story.
Closing Date for Entries:
Midnight Sunday 31 October 2021

Entries to be formatted in Times New Roman font and Doubled Spaced
Entries to be emailed as Word Document attachment to comms@westrivarts.com.au along with your name, age, postcode and the category you are entering
Three Prize Categories:
Open category - 1000-3000 words - Prize $300
Under 18 - 500-2000 words - Prize $150
Under 12 - Min 250 words - Prize $50
