Push the Medium and performance art workshop this Sunday

Push the Medium and performance art workshop this Sunday

Join us this Sunday 4th February at the Narrandera Arts and Community Centre for the official opening of Push the Medium, curated by Alex Wisser, and a performance art workshop with Alan Schacher.

Push the Medium is the fourth installment of the 'Activating Narrandera Arts' project initiated by Western Riverina Arts to utilise the Narrandera Arts Centre as a creative space. This is a collaborative exhibition of works by a group of artists based in Sydney and Regional NSW, who use a range of different mediums, practices and styles. The concept of this exhibition implores these artists to push their medium beyond their normal practice, to experiment and come up with something completely new.

The exhibition opening will include a performance by renowned performance artist Alan Schacher who will be facilitating a performance art workshop prior to the opening. This workshop is for artists of any medium, no prior experience in performance art is required, and is an inclusive workshop for anyone interested in exploring the role of the body in the development and presentation of art. The focus is on the process, rather than the end result. This workshop is free, however registrations are encouraged via Event Brite.

Where: Narrandera Arts and Community Centre, 31 Cadell Street, Narrandera
When: Sunday 4th February
Workshop time: 9am - 12/1pm
Exhibition opening time: 2pm
Cost: workshop and exhibition entry are free

Push the Medium will be open daily 10am - 4pm until Sunday 18th February.
